I hope that anyone seeing these images gets to visit Avalon. I first came here as a teenager, and kept coming back whenever I could get here. Either revisit from perhaps years ago, or take a boat over for the first time. It is a memorable place. It has been a vacation spot for celebs over the years, with great fishing, diving, and is just an inviting place to have fun. More is sure to come from Catalina, as it is a truly magical place on the planet. If you haven't visited, and you do find yourself there, it will be an especially great moment.

It is pretty quiet here this time of day, with mostly only the fishermen stirring out here in Avalon Bay.

There is just enough light to see where you are on a summer evening.

and more richly colored than the day.”

My mother swam here starting at the steps every morning of the year, except for those rare days when the Santa Ana winds created big swells coming into the usually calm harbor. She was a hardy one.
“We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
Aristotle, Greek philosopher and scientist (384–322 BC)

These beautiful orange fish decorate the shallow waters here and are a trademark of Avalon. They are off limits for fishing, and the fish know it.
They will be right around you in the water, knowing that they are protected.
“Nature is the art of God.”
Dante Alghieri, Italian poet of the Middle Ages (1265–1321)
